Rube Goldberg Machine
The Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption, invention, or device that is used to perform a simple task in a very complicated way generally including a chain reaction. For our project we had to have a total of at least 10 steps, 9 building days, and 3 days to put the presentation and everything together. Our 10 steps were having a small jawbreaker roll down a ramp into a tube that rapped around the board, which hit another ball which transfer its kinetic energy into a big jawbreaker. Then the ball rolls down a ramp, hits a lever which transfers energy into another big jawbreaker which rolls down another ramp into a pulley. As the ball in the pulley is lowering down in a cup to another ramp, at the same time the pulley is raising a handful of skittles which are in the other cup. As the ball that got lowered by the pulley rolls down 2 more ramps, it hits a knife which with fall onto a balloon filled with pop rocks which will fall into a bowl of sprite. The pop rocks and sprite will have a reaction to each other and the mixture will start to fizz.
